The religious bodies are been charged to henceforth organized live practical vocational and digital skills consistently for the youths under their umbrella to reduce unemployment among our youths in Nigeria.
The Apostolic Church Igbore Area Abeokuta Witnesses and Youths had one of it very first entrepreneurial live practical vocational and digital skills program where the youths where trained on vocational skills such as Shoe making, Barbing and hair fascinator.
The President, Nigeria Entrepreneurship Youth Initiative, Adefisoye Adeshola ( Mr. Diligent) was the guest speaker of the skills acquisition, he happens to be a member of The Apostolic Church,
he is an expert in digital marketing, digital and vocational entrepreneurship, who has impacted into over 5,000 youths in Nigeria and still counting on entrepreneurial digital and vocational skills, He is the first state executive director of Ogun State for the world largest entrepreneurship organization, Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs.
The President, was able to practically teach the beneficiaries of the program on how to leverage their vocational skills using the new media platforms such as the social media and he gave out the appropriate AI digital tools they can use to promote their products online using the social media tools .
There should be an encouragement for the youths to learn skills of their desired choice , stating that one of the best uniqueness the youths should diversify and make themselves different from others , female can learn what the male has learnt, while male can as well learn what the male as learnt , no skills is masculine or feminine in as much you are passionate about such skills and you are giving the platform. He added .
He addressed the Job seekers who were beneficiaries of the program on how they can easily apply for jobs using the digital space , he educates the beneficiaries to know that their social media platforms is their digital CV and as to be appropriately managed by what they post online not to affect their career.
Mr. Diligent admonished the presbyterians of the church that this type of programs should not stop, as it is going to attracts alot of youths to Christ, as this is also a way of preaching the gospel to the world and solicit to them that the church should have digital and vocational center across board of assemblies, district and areas , not limited to having a National Entrepreneurship summit program for the youths .
The youths are not lazy, they only needs platforms to leverage on and have the right leaders in the church to support their Initiative and entrepreneurial programs .
The church should ensure partnership with other NGOs, philanthropist , microfinance banks who supports SMEs for financial supports to boost their skills , he added that there can also be partnership with Corporate Affairs Commission ( C.A.C ) , Small Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) in capacity building on how they can register their businesses .
