In a groundbreaking move to bridge the gap between fashion and technology, the Nigeria Entrepreneurship Youth Initiative (N.E.Y.I), led by its President Adefisoye Adeshola (Mr. Diligent), paid a courtesy visit to the President of Ogun Tech Community, C. Itp Durosinmi A. E. (MSc, MBA, MNCS, MSP, MIEEE, MNIM, MANUPA), to present the upcoming “Fashionpreneurs in Tech” Training Program.

The meeting, held in Abeokuta, marked a new wave of collaboration between Ogun State’s tech ecosystem and the creative fashion industry, as both leaders shared a mutual vision — empowering fashion designers, tailors, and creatives through technology.

Technology Meets Fashion — “Everyone Wears Clothes,” Says Ogun Tech President

During the visit, the President of Ogun Tech Community expressed his excitement and full support for the initiative, emphasizing that “there is no one on earth who doesn’t wear clothes.” He highlighted that the fusion of fashion and technology is the future of creative entrepreneurship, urging local designers and tailors to embrace digital transformation in their craft.

He added that Ogun Tech Community is ready to partner with visionary organizations like N.E.Y.I, describing the “Fashionpreneurs in Tech” program as a distinctive and impact-driven idea that deserves community-wide support.

The Tech Community President also advised NEYI to collaborate with other relevant associations and networks that share similar demographics and target audiences to scale the reach of the program across Ogun State and beyond.

Empowering Youths, Bridging Rural Gaps with Tech

Speaking at the meeting, Adefisoye Adeshola (Mr. Diligent) reaffirmed N.E.Y.I’s commitment to bringing technology closer to rural and underserved communities, especially through edtechpreneurship and skill-based innovation.

He explained that the “Fashionpreneurs in Tech” program aims to train young entrepreneurs, tailors, and fashion designers on how to integrate digital tools, AI, social media marketing, and e-commerce systems into their business models to grow visibility and profitability.

Mr. Diligent further called on philanthropists, foundations, and development partners to support the initiative, as NEYI plans to empower top-performing participants with brand-new sewing machines, laptops, steam irons, and digital equipment to help them scale their businesses after training.

“Entrepreneurship and tech training are never complete without empowerment,” he stated.

Community, Culture, and Collaboration

Adding to the conversation, Daniel Azeez, NEYI’s Head of Technical Programs, emphasized the importance of involving traditional rulers and community leaders in the project rollout. According to him, the kings and chiefs play a vital role in mobilizing grassroots tailors and designers to benefit from the training.

He assured that NEYI is working strategically to ensure that no rural creative is left behind in the state’s digital transformation movement.

A Call for Partnership and Participation

As preparations intensify for the Fashionpreneurs in Tech Training, NEYI and Ogun Tech Community are calling on fashion designers, tailors, and entrepreneurs across Ogun State to get ready for a transformative learning experience that will reshape how they design, produce, and sell in the digital age.

This endorsement by the Ogun Tech Community signals a new dawn — where creativity meets innovation, and fashion meets the future.
