
The Nigeria Entrepreneurship Youth Initiative (N.E.Y.I), in collaboration with The Scout Association of Nigeria, held an official meeting with the Nigeria Police Force covering the jurisdiction where the NEYI Techpreneurship Hub is located. The meeting was crucial in ensuring a safe and secure environment for the upcoming Scoutpreneurship in Tech Program, which will take place in a rural area and last for five (5) days.
The President of NEYI, Adefisoye Adeshola (Mr. Diligent), introduced the mission of NEYI, highlighting its dedication to advocating for digital entrepreneurship and campaigning against cybercrime among youths. He emphasized that NEYI provides opportunities for youths, women, individuals, and organizations to gain training in tech and digital entrepreneurship, enabling them to earn legitimately. He also noted that the scouts attending the program are youths eager to be empowered with these skills.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Koyejo, the District Commissioner of TSAN Abeokuta North, reiterated that the Scoutpreneurship in Tech initiative is the first of its kind in Africa. He emphasized that this groundbreaking event would equip scouts with practical digital and entrepreneurial skills, positioning them for better career opportunities while promoting innovation and self-reliance.
Also present was Ogunbiyi Ahmed, the Founder of Success Business Academy (SBA), a strong partner of NEYI. He expressed his excitement about the initiative and reaffirmed SBA’s commitment to supporting impactful programs like this. He further emphasized the role of entrepreneurship in shaping the future of Nigerian youths.
Representing the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Adigbe Police Station, the Admin Officer of the Nigeria Police Force commended NEYI’s efforts in youth development. He acknowledged the importance of initiatives like Scoutpreneurship in Tech, stating that empowering young people with digital and vocational skills will significantly reduce crime rates by providing alternative and legal means of livelihood. He assured that the Nigeria Police Force is ready to partner with NEYI to ensure peace and security during the program and future entrepreneurial activities.
Additionally, The Director of Youth Programs of The Scout Association of Nigeria shared insights on the values of scouting and its role in community development. He reiterated the importance of equipping young scouts with relevant skills that will make them valuable contributors to society.
Furthermore, it was noted that the scouts will be at the venue for five (5) days as part of the bootcamp experience. During this time, they will not only receive digital training but also engage in a special community impact project aimed at giving back to the host community.
As part of this, the DPO of Adigbe Police Station has been requested to be present at the opening ceremony of the event, as there will be a landmark project launch by the Scout Association. This project will serve as a symbol of their presence and contribution to the community, ensuring long-term benefits for the local residents.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement on the importance of collaboration between NEYI, the Scout Association of Nigeria, and the Nigeria Police Force to create a secure, innovative, and empowering environment for young entrepreneurs and scouts.
This historic initiative will not only revolutionize scouting in Africa but also open doors of opportunity for young people to thrive in the digital economy while fostering community development.
